Discipline is the foundation of happiness and the uttermost requirement for success: Arthur da Silva...
FROM BRAZIL TO SWITZERLAND
Born in Brazil, near the sea, as a boy Arthur Gustavo (known as Tuca) started first of all to surf. When he was four years old horses soon came into his life thanks to his father, a dentist with a great passion for horses.
He started to ride when he was seven, marking the beginning of a very promising career as a junior rider.
At the age of sixteen he left Brazil for Europe, where he initially went to ride in Belgium for Francois Mathy, a world renown rider, who in 1976 won the Olympic Games by team and individual. He moved to Switzerland in 2000 where he worked for Olympic rider Urs Fäh for a year and later started his own business until 2009. By this time Olympic Gold-medalist Markus Fuchs retired from the sport and gave Arthur the reins of his horses and support of his sponsors for two years. By 2010 he began competing for the European nation of Switzerland.
Since then his road to success has been paved by a list of outstanding achievements at the highest level of equestrian sports.
He's been in the top 100 athletes on the International Equestrian Federation and has placed in the most renowned shows and arenas around the world.
With more than 15 years of experience as a professional 5 star equestrian athlete and from European Junior Championships, to Nations Cups, World Equestrian Games and the Olympics, he still has ambition to continue contributing with his talent and passion, to the highest level of equestrian sports.
